About the Course

The program is recognized by The British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The purpose of the program is to educate nurses to work with individuals, families, groups and communities from a health promotion perspective and with an ethic of caring. The program will assist students to develop sensitivity to people's experiences with health and healing across the lifespan in a variety of settings. Students will learn to work as partners with clients and with other health care providers. Through their understanding of and participation in the changing health care system, graduates will be active participants in creating health for all.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is British Columbia's only polytechnic university, offering a unique blend of applied skills training and academic pathways. It is a public institution providing hands-on education across five campuses in the Metro Vancouver region.

Language Requirement

To get into the BSN program at KPU, you must meet two English requirements:

KPU English Proficiency Requirement
You must show that your overall English skills are strong enough for university. You can meet this by:

English 12 (C+), or

A university English course with a passing grade, or

An English test such as IELTS 6.5 (no band under 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 88.

Program Requirement: ENGL 1100 (C+)
The BSN program specifically requires that you have completed ENGL 1100 – Introduction to University Writing with at least C+ before entering the program.

So, to apply you must:
✔️ Prove English proficiency AND
✔️ Have ENGL 1100 (C+)
